Ford Fusion Hybrid Helps Ford Sales
Ford Motor Company announced incredible sales increases across all brands, including the Ford Fusion and Ford Fusion Hybrid, for the month of February. U.S. sales were up 43% versus year ago and 22% up over January 2010. These numbers are quite impressive! Even more impressive, Ford’s market share was up 3% versus last year to 17% of the U.S. market. Sweet. Second quarter production was up 144,000 vehicles versus same period last year! Do you think the economic rebound and subsequent increase in new car demand, coupled with Toyota’s problems has helped Ford just a litte??
Breaking down the sales increases, fleet sales accounted for a big part of it, coming in at 74% higher than same period last year, while the sales to retail customers were up a not too shabby 28% over last year.
Some of the highlights of the Ford sales numbers release with regards to the Ford Fusion and Fusion Hybrid:
- Sales of Ford Fusion set a new record with a 116 % (that’s right, more than double) increase over last February’s numbers
- This is the 10th monthly sales record out of the last 11 months!
- The Ford Fusion Hybrid was recently named North American Car of the Year!
So things continue to look good for Ford in general and for the Ford Fusion and Fusion Hybrid look to continue to lead the way. Ford Fusion (both the gas and the hybrid) sold 16,459 units in February versus 7,600 last February. Only the F series pickup outnumbered the Ford Fusion in sales units.
